NY Islanders release nationally televised games and time changes for upcoming season

New York Islanders fans planning ahead for the 2026-27 season will want to make a few updates to their calendars. The team has announced time changes for six games on the upcoming schedule, including the first road matchup against the New York Rangers and a Halloween home game against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oct. 6 game at Madison Square Garden will now begin at 8 p.m., one hour later than originally scheduled. The Oct. 31 home game against Edmonton has been moved up to 2 p.m. from 3:30 p.m. The Dec. 3 road game in Philadelphia shifts to 7:30 p.m., while the Jan. 28 game at Carolina moves up to 6:30 p.m. The Feb. 1 game at Florida will now start at 2 p.m., and the March 30 home game against Carolina moves to 7:30 p.m.

The schedule update also comes with the Islanders set to make 10 nationally televised appearances during the season.

ESPN will carry the Oct. 6 game against the Rangers and the March 15 road game against the Boston Bruins. ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu will stream four Islanders games: Oct. 22 against the Los Angeles Kings, Nov. 5 against Carolina, Nov. 12 at Los Angeles and Dec. 3 at Philadelphia. The March 30 home game against Carolina will also air on those platforms.

TNT, truTV and HBO Max will carry three more games, including Jan. 13 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jan. 28 at Carolina and March 7 against Pittsburgh.

Several of those nationally televised matchups overlap with the newly adjusted start times, including the Rangers game on Oct. 6, the Flyers game on Dec. 3, the Hurricanes game on Jan. 28 and the March 30 rematch at UBS Arena.
