Back in November when the New York Islanders announced that Brent Sutter would be the latest inductee into the team's Hall-of-Fame, there was also news that the organization had plans to introduce a new Ring of Honor to UBS Arena as well.
On Saturday, hours before the Sutter induction ceremony, the team released a quick video on social media showing the new addition to the Isles' home under the upper bowl, where fan art had hung since the building's opening in 2021. The post read, "Legacy. Impact. Brotherhood."
Each inductee's first and last name is listed along with "New York Islanders Hall of Fame" displayed in multiple locations. Judging by a white covering near Section 204, it is likely that's where Sutter's name will be revealed later tonight before the game vs. San Jose.
Legacy. Impact. Brotherhood.

The Islanders had previously had one banner listing each player who had been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The HOF includes all players who have retired jerseys (Potvin, Bossy, Smith, Gillies, Nystrom, Trottier, Tonelli, and Goring), along with head coach Al Arbour, General Manager Bill Torrey, first captain Ed Westfall, reliable defenseman Ken Morrow, speedster Bob Bourne, and former captains Patrick Flatley and Kenny Jonsson. Plagues for each player are accessible to fans in the corridor of UBS Arena after previously being located in the tunnel at the Nassau Coliseum.
While Ring of Honors first caught on in NFL Stadiums, it's increasingly becoming something hockey organizations are incorporating into the arena experience in the NHL, especially when the hockey team is the lone anchor tenant. The New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks are two of the teams that already have the celebratory addition to their home arenas.
