In the latest edition of the Eyes on Isles Podcast, Joe Buono (@IslesFix) and full-time recurring co-host Andy Francess (@AndyFrancess) ran to the mics after last night's game to provide their instant reactions following the NY Islanders' disheartening 4-3 OT loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.

They talk about the missed high-sticking call on Scott Mayfield and the fact that the Islanders didn't earn a power play for the first time in their playoff history. Andy breaks down the goals Ilya Sorokin wishes he had back and questions his positioning that perhaps too often relies on his athleticism.

Also discussed is the way the team responded against a stingy Carolina defense after being down 2-2-0 with goals by Kyle Palmieri and Mathew Barzal before the end of the second period. For Joe, he wants to be a big Bo Horvat fan, and he was patient throughout the regular season, but he needs to see more from him than what he got in Game 2, where the scoring chances were non-existent.

But overall, the duo explain why they still have a tinge of optimism as this series heads to Long Island for their first ever playoff games at UBS Arena and that has as much to do with the Carolina Hurricanes as it does the way the Islanders are playing.

Plus, Joe seeks Andy's advice on how to handle his viewing dilemma on Friday night as he has long-standing dinner reservations that are at the same time as puck drops. Later, after hearing the debate on the Boomer and Gio Morning Show, they discuss where a parade would be and should be if the Islanders were ever to win that elusive fifth Stanley Cup
