Well, today was the day the former New Jersey Devils got their revenge. With the New York Islanders having Andy Greene, Zach Parise, and Kyle Palmieri, it's like a Devils reunion at UBS Arena and two of them found the back of the net tonight.

In the first period, it started rather slow. There weren't a ton of chances for either side but the final three minutes of the period was wild. First, Jesper Bratt scored after a brutal Scott Mayfield mistake. Mayfield got caught pinching and then turned it over sending the Devils the other way.

Just 44 seconds later, the Islanders were gifted a power play where Noah Dobson, who has been on fire, scored his third of the season assisted by Mat Barzal and Oliver Wahlstrom.

Unfortunately, the Isles couldn't go into the end of the period with a tie game. Jack Hughes scores his fourth of the year at 18:25 on an absolute blast past Ilya Sorokin. Sorokin came out to challenge him but Hughes just flat out beat him. After one, it was 2-1 New Jersey.

The second saw the former Devils shine. First, Andy Greene was able to tie it up after Mat Barzal found him up at the point. After that, the Isles took back-to-back delay of game penalties which was extremely frustrating but on the second of the two, Zach Parise got his first as an Islander short-handed.

On what would've been his dad's 80th birthday, Zach Parise scored his first goal as a New York Islander. In the third period it was a quiet start as for the Islanders who were just being patient for the most part as the Devils struggled to get much of anything going.

At about the halfway part of the third, Oliver Wahlstrom found JG Pageau in the slot and the Islanders made it 4-2. Well don't look now but both Wahlstrom and Pager are on fire right now.

Wahlstrom has three games in a row with two points and JG Pageau has three goals in his last five games. Finally, the Islanders offense is starting to wake up a little bit. The Isles would get a couple looks at an empty net goal but unfortunately weren't able to grab one, but for the first time the Islanders won a game at UBS Arena.

They've played much better hockey recently, they have points in five of their last six games? Positive vibes only right now.
