Well, that was fun! There haven't been too many games like this during the year but we will absolutely take it. Ilya Sorokin got the start for the Islanders as they're set to play a back-to-back at home tonight and tomorrow.

In the first period, the Islanders lucked out at had an opportunity on a 5-on-3. Something that you can set your watch to at this point happened, Brock Nelson scored and Noah Dobson picked up an assist on the play:

The Isles went to the room with a 1-0 lead after a pretty solid start to the first period. In the second, the Islanders offense came to life. Josh Bailey, for the first time in 19 games, FINALLY found the back of the net.

Boy did he need that one badly. The Islanders weren't done, they got another goal from Anders Lee who has three in the last two games after his rip in the second period.

Heck, the Islanders even got a short handed goal (they weren't on the wrong end of one for a change) as Ryan Pulock found JG Pageau for Pagers 10th of the season. A 4-0 lead after two periods had the Isles sitting pretty.

In the third period, the Islanders went into park the bus mode. At roughly the halfway point of the period, Casey Cizikas left to go to the room but would thankfully return shortly after

In the third period, the Islanders added another goal as Anders Lee scored 11:57 into the period. Lee was ice cold for a little bit here but with four goals in the last two games, Lee is starting to heat up again.

Oh, and he wasn't done. For the first time in his career, Anders Lee scored a hat trick! Absolutely love to see it for the captain who now has 19 goals on the year. Thrilled for him.

Columbus registered just three shots in the period. Three. Plus, Ilya Sorokin wasn't tested much but when he did he was excellent stopping all 25 shots that he faced. What a performance, back at it tomorrow.
