The New York Islanders did not make any trades today on trade deadline day. There was chatter with Semyon Varlamov, Cal Clutterbuck, Andy Greene, and others but the returns were not enough to get Lou Lamoriello to pull the trigger.

Instead, we saw two contract extensions. Zach Parise received a one-year extension beyond this year and Cal Clutterbuck a two-year deal. As of writing this, we don't know the AAV of the Parise deal, I wouldn't expect much more than the veteran minimum, and Cal Clutterbuck got a $1.75 million deal to stay with the team.

In episode 240 of the Eyes on Isles Podcast, Mitch and I will discuss our reactions from today as well as the thoughts on the future of this team, down on the farm, the quiz, and the social segment. Here is what you cap expect from this reactionary podcast:

Topics

Trade Deadline Day

Quiz

On the quiz, Mitch will pick a random player in Islanders history and I have to try to guess who that player is based on five clues. It’s usually a blast.
