The New York Islanders are playing against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight and they will attempt to end their losing streak of seven games. Their lineup has been unrecognizable with 10 guys out due to either COVID or an injury but there may be some good news on that front.

Noah Dobson looks like he'll be good to go after missing a game with a lower body injury. The team also got Josh Bailey back for skate this morning but the expectation is for him to return to the lineup on Saturday as his recovery from COVID continues.

New York Islanders try to end the streak

Tale of the Tape

The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently 9-6-4 which is good enough for fourth place in the Metropolitan Division. It just goes to show you the level of competition in this division.

To make matters worse for the struggling Islanders, the Pens are red hot right now winning four games in a row with just two goals allowed. The Islanders have just seven goals in their last seven games for context.

Betting Odds

WynnBet has the Penguins favored at -140 with the Islanders at +125 on the moneyline as the underdog.

Islanders Projected Lineup

Panik - Barzal - Parise

Beauvillier - Pageau - Palmieri

Andreoff - Koivula - Wahlstrom

Martin - Cizikas - Clutterbuck

Salo - Mayfield

Hickey - Dobson

Aho - Hutton

Sorokin

Noah Dobson is expected to return and after a putrid debut for Paul LaDue he is the most likely one to be removed from the lineup. All indications are the forward group will remain the same. If we are to see any change perhaps Anatolii Golyshev will enter for more likely Andy Andreoff.

It won't be easy but the Islanders desperately need to end this losing streak if they want to salvage their season.
