It's always good to mentally prepare for when you won't be able to listen to Brendan Burke call a New York Islanders game. On Thursday, the NHL, ESPN, and Turner Sports announced that the Isles will play 10 games across national TV and streaming platforms during the 2024-25 season. Maybe, just maybe, we will get lucky, and Burke will call one of the two NHL on TNT broadcasts.

The Isles' first six national platform games are all on ESPN+. HULU, starting on Dec. 5, when the Islanders will host the Seattle Kraken at UBS Arena. Less than two weeks later, on Dec. 17, the Isles will be in Carolina for a playoff rematch with the Hurricanes. Their first game of 2025 will also be streamed against former Toronto captain John Tavares and the Maple Leafs on Jan 2. The Isles end the month with two more games on ESPN+, HULU, first at home versus the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 28 and then a short trip to Philadelphia to battle the Flyers on Jan. 30. There isn't another national platform game until Apr. 1 when the Tampa Bay Lightning come to Long Island.

There are four more nationally televised games in April, including versus the Capitals in DC on Apr. 6 (TNT, truTV, MAX) and on the road against the Flyers on Apr. 12 (ABC, ESPN+). The next day, the Islanders are on TNT and in Newark to battle the New Jersey Devils. Their final national game (ESPN) is slated for Apr. 15, with another matchup against Alexander Ovechkin and the Capitals on Apr. 16.

The team also announced changes in start times for five games. Four of the five are changed due to the released national TV schedule, while their game against the Ottawa Senators on Dec. 8 at Canadian Tire Centre has been moved to 5:00 PM ET.
