It was Day 2 at the World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Michigan, where NY Islanders prospects Cole Eiserman and Jesse Nurmi faced off as Team USA took on Finland.

After playing on the top line in yesterday's win against Sweden, Eiserman was dropped to the second line, as there was juggling throughout the roster. Lined up alongside Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jayson Shaugabay and 2025 projected first-round pick, EJ Mooney, Eiserman also featured on the team's top power play unit.

"It's definitely a different year," Eiserman told Mike Morreale of NHL.com after yesterday's game. "The draft is over and you kind of relax a little bit, and now it's just strictly trying to make a hockey team and doing the stuff that the coach says. I definitely feel a lot more comfortable this year and I'm excited."

Eiserman failed to find the score sheet once again, unable to register a point in two games. FloHockey's Chris Peters, who has been present at the showcase, has been relatively unimpressed with Eiserman's performance saying that Eiserman was unnoticeable.

On the other side of the ice, Nurmi found himself on the score sheet twice, despite the Finns falling 5-3.

Nurmi's goal was a bit unorthodox as he scored off a puck that hit the back of his head and redirected past the goaltender. His second point of the day came off an assist on a Topias Hynninen goal.

Nurmi was part of Finland's roster at last year's World Junior Championship, totaling two assists in six games. All signs point to him making this year's roster and is expected to be one of Finland's top performers.

After playing his entire life in Finland, Nurmi will make the jump to North America this season playing for OHL powerhouse, the London Knights, as they look to repeat as OHL champions.
