With the recent migration from cable TV to streaming services, MSG Network and the YES Network have teamed up to launch the Gotham Sports App.

The app is scheduled to be ready by the start of the NHL and NBA seasons. It will be a one-stop-shop for watching the NY Islanders, Rangers, Devils, Knicks, Nets, and Yankees.

MSG and YES team upto create Gotham Sports App

According to the NY Post, an annual subscription for the MSG+ and YES packages will cost $359.99, or monthly for $41.99.

Alternatively, only MSG+ will cost you $279.99 annually or $29.99 monthly, while YES will run for $239.99 annually or $24.99 monthly.

“We are excited through GAME to bring New York area fans their favorite teams in one state-of-the-art app,” MSG Networks president and CEO Andrea Greenberg said in a release. “With the increased fragmentation of outlets carrying fan favorite sports programming, The Gotham Sports App allows fans of our teams one easy access point for New York area sporting events from MSG Networks and the YES Network.”

The MSG+ app recently became available through Fire TV and Roku, but now, fans of New York area sports will simply need to use a single app to catch all their favorite teams.

As streaming services like YouTube TV or Direct TV Stream have become more popular, there are plenty of channels that people don't necessarily watch. For the sports junkies out there, this will allow them to save some money by cutting out the channels they don't need, without having to worry about missing a game.

For those old enough to remember, this isn't the first time the Yankees and MSG have teamed up, as MSG, along with WPIX, was the home of the Yankees from 1989 to 2001, before the inception of the YES Network.
