Since joining the NY Islanders in 2017, Mat Barzal has been known to wear his emotions on his sleeve. Whether that be after being eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals or Monday night against the Blue Jackets, Barzal has spoken his mind be it in front of a microphone or on the bench,

In the Isles' 3-1 win against the Blue Jackets 12 days ago, Barzal was seen on the bench commenting about the crowd size at UBS Arena being "a joke." Not much was said about the situation, but some believe that Barzal is at the point in his career where he could use a change of scenery as the team is still outside of playoff position despite their 6-game winning streak.

Whitney and Biz would like to see Barzal moved

"It's like oh boy, what are the Islanders doing, they need to start moving some pieces," said Ryan Whitney, host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast. "If I'm a GM around there, at his price tag, I'm calling non-stop about Barzal. Non-stop."

The Islanders haven't been a high-flying offensive team since Barzal joined, outside of his rookie campaign under Doug Weight when the team didn't play a lick of offense. Co-host, Paul Bissonette, believes Barzal playing elsewhere would allow him to display his incredible offensive arsenal.

"For me, it's more about it just doesn't seem like the way he wants to play and his creativity is able to shine there," says Bissonette. "And I think it's being wasted. If I were him, my frustration would continue to mount, where it's like not only are we losing, not only is our building f****** empty, it's not exciting. Our team is s***. I want to go have fun and play, and be creative and use my speed."

It's unlikely that Lou Lamoriello would move Barzal as he is the team's most dynamic player and he's beginning to find his groove since returning from injury.
