Jerseys have been the big talking point surrounding the NY Islanders recently, as the final round of voting is underway for the fan-designed third jersey for the 2027-28 season. And while there’s excitement for the first-ever fan-designed jersey, the Islanders will be donning some new threads this upcoming season.
Today, the NHL announced the Hometown Remix collection will be available this season for all 32 teams, including a special edition uniform, apparel, and headwear.
The fisherman returns with the Hometown Remix
“The Hometown Remix collection will be anchored by special edition uniforms that uniquely and authentically celebrates the fans, city, and local culture of each team,” the NHL stated through a social media post.

While some were unhappy with the fisherman logo being among the final eight jerseys for the fan-created designs, it appears those fans are in for an unpleasant surprise when the Hometown Remix jerseys are revealed.
As reported by Icethetics two months ago, the Islanders will reportedly don the fisherman jersey once again for the 2026-27 season. The logo will not be a replica of the ones worn in the 90s, but will be more similar to those worn by the Bridgeport Islanders last season.
Icethetics says they have confirmed these are the jerseys the Islanders will be wearing, so for those who detest the logo, you’ll only need to deal with it for one season. And for those whose fandom began while the fisherman was being worn full-time, you’ll be able to enjoy one more year with them.
