Brink, 24, was selected 34th overall by the Flyers in 2019. Currently in his third NHL season, Brink has already set a career high in goals with 13, and with a run of good play could flirt with 20.Â

Brink is in the final year of a two-year deal with the Flyers with a cap hit of $1.5M, and will be an RFA at season's end. While Brink’s numbers aren’t that much on the surface, he’s been playing on a below-average Flyers team and is still just 24 years old. The Flyers have a bit of a log jam of young wingers aside from Brink, including Denver Barkey, Matvei Michkov, Tyson Foerster, and last year's sixth overall pick, Porter Martone.
The Islanders likely won't be willing to deal with a first-round pick for Brink, though maybe if Darche likes him enough, they could dangle the Colorado pick. More realistically we’re looking at a package like a third-round pick and a mid-level prospect.
Darche won’t want to part with his top prospects from this past draft, and a player like Tippett or Brink will cost less while still adding a top-6 forward with term.
