On Tuesday night in Edmonton New York Islanders forward Anders Lee scored his 25th goal of the year tying his career high in goals.
In Anders Lee rookie year with the New York Islanders he put up 25 goals. An impressive number for a rookie, everything just seemed to be going right with him. Unfortunately in 2015-16 Lee took a step back.
He really struggled at times and only ended up with 15 goals on the season. The slump carried over into this year as Lee started slow out of the gate.
But he picked it up around Thanksgiving and has been fantastic ever since. With his two goals on Tuesday Lee tied his career high. Anders is truly becoming a dominant power forward at the NHL level.

I for one was nearly ready to give up on him, I thought here’s a guy who doesn’t skate particularly well nor does he have a really good shot what’s his value? Well, he started doing what he does best again by going to the front of the net.
He’s such a net presence that he can just get all of his goals by cleaning up the mess in front of the net. You need players like that and Lee serves that purpose perfectly.
He’s turned into a legit option on John Tavares‘ wing. It won’t be long before we see Josh Ho-Sang prove why he can be playing on the right side.
