Islanders Sign Veteran Eric Boulton
#Isles announce that Eric Boulton has signed a one-year deal.
— Arthur Staple (@StapeAthletic) October 13, 2015
Eric Boulton will be playing his 20th season in the NHL this year after the New York Islanders signed the grinder to a one year contract. Although he sorted of did not make the team out of training camp, GM Garth Snow thinks that the team needs someone like Boulton on the team, who at 39 years old, helps protect the star players on the team. Why would an opposing bruiser give captain John Tavares a brutal hit when they know they will be getting it from Eric Boulton?
Anyways, it was obvious that Eric Boulton tried very hard in training camp to make the team and he was rewarded. He will likely be a healthy scratch for most of the season.

Former Islander Matt Donovan Placed on Waivers
Elliotte Friedman tweeted that former Islander defenceman Matt Donovan was placed on waivers Tuesday by the Buffalo Sabres. Donovan was a frequent call-up for the Islanders over the past few seasons. With top prospect Ryan Pulock sent down to Bridgeport, maybe there is room for him as the seventh defenceman.
Great to be a New York sports fan, isn’t it?

Even the New York Rangers, dare I say, are off to a good start. For once the Yankees are not the talk of the town.
