New York Islanders rookie Josh Ho-Sang made a huge impact on a team so desperately needing him in the 2016-17 campaign and is looking to build off of that next season.

Since the day he got drafted, New York Islanders fans, especially myself, have been fascinated by Josh Ho-Sang’s play, which is at times overshadowed by his off ice antics. Although many fans thought Ho-Sang was never going to be mature enough to make it to the show, I believed in him through it all, and he definitely proved the doubters wrong in the 21 games he played this season,

What I loved the most about Josh Ho-Sang’s potential was his outstanding playmaking ability. From his time in juniors to the NHL, Ho-Sang is able to make passes that very few could make to set up just about anyone on the ice.

In my opinion, Joshua Ho-Sang was the best prospect the New York Islanders had, from the time he got drafted up until the start of this season. Some thought he was undersized or couldn’t score enough goals to be efficient in the NHL, but that’s where they were wrong.

More from Eyes On Isles

During his short stint with the Islanders this year, Ho-Sang proved his fast skating ability, as well as his playmaking ability, are not only good enough to make it to the NHL, but enough to completely transform a team.

His play during the last six games of the season, where New York Islanders captain, John Tavares, was out with a knee injury certainly showed how much of a difference Ho-Sang makes to this team.

The New York Islanders ended their season on a six game winning streak, much of it thanks to the outstanding play and work ethic from Ho-Sang. He seemed very mature, which was surprising to some as many wrote him off as immature.

The Grade

Joshua Ho Sang deserves an A+

Discounting the amount of games played and the amount of points, he proved to New York Islanders fans everywhere that he is mature enough to play in this league, as well as win games on his own with his speed and playmaking ability.
