The New York Islanders crossed the mid-way point of their season on Saturday with a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils, extending their win streak to eight and point streak to eleven. Those streaks now sit at nine and twelve respectively after Sunday’s wild shootout win, and just like that the Islanders are the hottest team in hockey halfway through the 2020-21 NHL season.

We here at Eyes On Isles are obviously thrilled with the results this Islanders team has given us thus far. But, with such a balanced roster carrying the team’s success, we got to thinking. Who is the Islanders’ team MVP halfway through 2020-21? Most outstanding player?

We want to hear from you, the fans and readers of this site, about who you think deserves the vote for the team’s MVP, and other awards. So, we’re holding a fan vote!

This article is to discuss the seven awards and provide a link to the voting.

New York Islanders Mid-Season Awards Fan Vote

The seven awards we’re asking fans to vote on are as follows: Team MVP, best rookie, best goalie, best defenseman, best defensive forward, the most outstanding player (note: not the team MVP, just the best player), and the Bob Nystrom Trophy for the Islander who best exemplifies work ethic, leadership, and dedication.

Voting is live now! Think you have a hot take about who the 2020-21 Islanders’ Most Valuable Player is? Now’s your chance to cast a vote for that player. Who has been the better defenseman in 2020-21, Ryan Pulock or Adam Pelech? Or someone else? Best rookie? I’m going Oliver Wahlstrom, but maybe you believe differently. Let us hear it.

Here is the link to the voting page on Google Forms.

The voting will be tabulated after two days, and we’ll announce the results both here on the site, and on our social media feeds once it is all counted up.

We here at Eyes On Isles look forward to seeing the results of the vote, and can’t wait to hear your opinion on who should win these awards. Remember, voting closes in two days, so get your votes in before then.
