It was a frustrating night for the NY Islanders, losing their first game back from the 4 Nations break to the Dallas Stars.

A couple of decisions didn’t go the Islanders’ way, including a 5-minute major and game misconduct to Casey Cizikas, which the Stars scored twice on the ensuing power play, and a disallowed goal from JG Pageau which would have knotted the game at four.

Jason Robertson notched his first first-trick of the season and what was ultimately the deciding goal in the second period.

But that wasn’t the only Robertson to register a multi-goal game last night, as his brother, Nick, a forward for the Toronto Maple Leafs scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season in a 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

While there have been plenty of siblings to play in the NHL over the years, this was the first time two brothers have recorded multi-goal games on the same night in almost 25 years.

The last brothers to do so were Pavel and Valeri Bure on March 1, 2000.

Pavel, known as the Russian Rocket, scored his 44th and 45th goals of the season that night for the Florida Panthers on a 3-1 over the Maple Leafs. Valeri registered goals No. 32 and 33 for the Calgary Flames in their 8-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It seems like the Islanders are one of those teams that just happens to be on the wrong side of history, with last night just being another night to forget.
