When NY Islanders owners John Ledecky and Scott Malkin built UBS Arena on the grounds of Belmont Park, the intent was deliver a state of the art facility that is unmatched around the NHL.

Unlike other organizations whose home arenas are in the middle of large metropolitan areas, the space at Belmont Park allows for more to be done in the immediate vicinity aside from the arena itself.

First, The Park at UBS Arena was built which has become a must visit attraction before games with entertainment for all ages.

The village will have a variety of shops including The North Face, John Varvatos, and Sunglass Hut.

The construction of Belmont Park Village, The Park at UBS Arena, and UBS Arena itself, are the reasons the Islanders were announced as the hosts of the 2026 NHL All Star Game.

“We are honored to be invited to host the National Hockey League, the game’s finest players and fans from around the world to join us in New York for the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend,” Islanders Majority Owner Scott Malkin told NHL.com. “Whether our guests will be watching the talented players on the ice in UBS Arena, a building built specifically for hockey, shopping in Belmont Park Village or enjoying pre and post-game festivities in The Park, the 2026 All-Star weekend will show NHL fans the outstanding destination we have for hockey, shopping and entertainment.”
