In the words of former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Mora: "Playoffs?! We're talking about playoffs?"
Yes, we're talking about playoffs. Specifically, we're talking about the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship. A massive, sixteen-team tournament to determine the best amateur team in Division I hockey. Three of the seven Islanders prospects currently playing in the NCAA will play in the tournament. What should Islanders fans know as the pursuit of a championship begins?
Cole Eiserman - Boston University

What can be said about Eiserman that hasn't been said already? The 20th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft has quickly become the best prospect in the Islanders system thanks to his thundering wrist shot and firey attitude.
Eiserman has enjoyed an incredible freshman year at Boston University. He recorded 32 points in 35 games at BU, making the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. He earned a gold medal at the 2025 World Junior Championship, earning seven points in seven games.
In a tournament built for big moments, Eiserman has shown a flair for the dramatic as a Freshman. He scored the go-ahead goal versus Canada at the WJC (then taunted the Canadians). He scored the overtime game-winner against UMass that sent BU to the Hockey East's semifinals. Eiserman seems to be built for this type of moment.
Cole Eiserman might be the most hyped #Isles prospect in years.

Sure, Eiserman's passion can be...overwhelming for some, and his lack of discipline has gotten him into hot water. But Eiserman is top-notch entertainment with his combo of skill and bravado. BU's tournament will begin against Ohio State. That game will take place in Toledo, Ohio on Thursday Mar 27th. Puck will drop at 2pm.
