Wins in back-to-back games over the weekend have the New York Islanders just six points back of the Eastern Conference's second Wild Card spot. But, Saturday's 3-2 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes also saw the Isles lose RHD Ryan Pulock when he fell awkwardly behind the Islander net just 15 seconds into his first shift. Pulock skated off under his own power, but immediately went down the tunnel with head athletic trainer Damien Hess and did not return.
Pulock's injury potentially leaves the Islanders with another gap to fill after the team announced Saturday that Noah Dobson had been placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve. The Islanders moved quickly to replace Dobson, signing Tony DeAngelo for the remainder of the season. But what can be done to replace Pulock should he be sidelined for a longer period too?
